The International University of Scholars, popularly known as University of Scholars, has started its journey in 2015 with five departments at the outset. The Trustee Board of the university aims to establish a research-intensive modern private university for Bangladeshi as well as international students which will produce world-class researchers and industry leading professionals. The university is working with the slogan- We Build Professionals, and following American curriculum with strong emphasis on the use of technology for teaching and learning process. Therefore, we are adopting the newest educational technologies (EdTech) to modernize our Learning Management System (LMS) for the best experience of learning as well as teaching. This is the first initiative of such kind in Bangladesh. Our congenial atmosphere and flexible policy inspire the faculty members who are highly qualified having academic degrees and professional training from home and abroad.
The impact of banking sector financial performance on the economic growth in Bangladesh Abstract: This study mainly examines the impact of banking sector financial performance on the economic growth in Bangladesh. Here, 16 commercial banks that are operating in the country have been considered. These companies are observed over the period of 10 years (2008-2017) giving rise to 160 panel observations. In this study, Gross Domestic Product Growth Rate as a measure of economic growth has been used as a dependent variable. Whereas, Bank Size, Return on Equity, Return on Investment and Operating Profit Growth Rate taken as a representative of banking sector financial performance have been used as explanatory variables. The result of our study provide evidence that all the explanatory variables have statistically significant influence on the Gross Domestic Product Growth Rate meaning that the banking sector financial performance has significant impact on the economic growth in Bangladesh. This study suggests that the concerned authority should give emphasis on the development of the banking sector thereby accelerating the economic growth. Customer Services through E-Banking: A Case Study on Eastern Bank Limited (EBL) Abstract: The more the civilization tends to modern technology, the more the banking system gets modernized with upto-date technology. As a result, E-Banking is a fruit of modern technology nowadays. It is too buzzword to elaborate. Hence, how electronic banking ripples the mind of the people in the modern century, what the reacts toward the new technology of the society, how it impacts the dimension of the operations of the financial institutions and ability to provide security about the customers confidentially are the immanent driving forces behind me to opt this topic and make an analysis. Primary data have been collected according to the questionnaire for classifying the respondents according to the variables such as gender, occupation, education, qualification, account opening, and Internet banking-related variables. Finally, the findings of the analysis concluded that the young generation is more interested in E-Banking. Most of the EBanking users are service holders and they use it for personal requirements. Security, privacy, time-saving, and hassle-free banking have been possible through E-Banking. Through this analysis I recommend that a special campaign should be launched to attract customers’ especially female customers to use electronic banking, Charges of internet banking should be fixed at a reasonable amount and procedures should be made easier to attract more conventional clients in it and Ebanking service should be according to the customers’ expectation and satisfaction. Does The Financial Performance Of Islamic Banks Are Higher Than The Traditional Banks In Bangladesh? Panel Data Analysis Abstract: This study aims to examine the comparative financial performance between traditional and Islamic banks in Bangladesh. The study used secondary data as panel data of banks for 2016-2020. Since the data is secondary, the quantitative approach to research is considered to use financial ratio analysis (FRA). For analyzing the panel data, Decision Analyst Stats 2.0 software was used. This study randomly selected 10 scheduled commercial banks where 5 traditional and 5 Islamic banks. The results found that the financial performance of Islamic banks and traditional banks is satisfactory but more satisfactory in the case of Islamic banks in Bangladesh. The study also found that profitability has increased significantly in the banking sector in the last five years. Based on empirical findings, financial performance indicators significantly affect the financial performance of the baking sector; that’s why policymakers should care about financial performance determining factors and focus on rapid economic growth with risk recovery techniques. The present study is a small attempt to understand the current financial performance of Islamic Banks and Traditional Banks.
