Dr. Rowsanara Akhter holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Jahangirnagar University (2014) and an MPhil in Applied Mathematics from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (2009). She pursued her BSc (Hons) and MSc in Mathematics from Jahangirnagar University in 1999 and 2000, respectively. Currently, she serves as an Associate Professor in Mathematics at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Scholars, where she also takes on the role of Pro Vice-Chancellor (Acting) since 01 March 2023.
Dr. Akhter embarked on her career as a Lecturer in Mathematics at Model Institute of Science and Technology, Gazipur, and later at Haji Abul Hossain Institute of Technology, Tangail. In 2017, she joined the University of Scholars as a Lecturer in Mathematics at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.
Her research focuses on computational fluid dynamics, magnetohydrodynamics, heat transfer, nanofluids, hybrid nanofluids, and transport in porous medium. With her expertise, she has published twenty-three research articles in prestigious national and international journals with high impact factors. Dr. Rowsanara Akhter's commitment to academic excellence and her contributions to the field of Applied Mathematics continue to drive innovation and knowledge advancement.
