1. “Advancements in a Dual-Core PCF-SPR Sensor Incorporated with a Gold Coating for Biosensing Purpose”
Abstract: The progression and characterization of a Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) dual-core photonic crystal fiber (PCF) biosensor incorporated with a gold-coated system are explored in this research paper. SPR stands out as a validated sensing mechanism, offering authorized and label-free detection of biological substances. The sensitivity and precision of biomolecular interaction analysis experience a notable augmentation through the proposed biosensor, capitalizing on the distinctive attributes of PCF, such as its expansive surface area and modal confinement. The exterior of the PCF is utilized for immobilizing a substance called analyte along with a plasmonic activity material, rendering it suitable for operational applications. A plasmonic substance, gold (Au) is employed for a certain trait. The simulation outcomes exhibit an augmented dynamic perception, ranging from the refractive index (RI) of 1.35 to 1.4. Additionally, the biosensor's specificity towards different biomolecules is investigated. The sensor has been analyzed and assessed using the finite element method (FEM). After simulation and numerical analysis, the sensor attains a maximum wavelength sensitivity (WS) of 12000 nm/RIU and amplitude sensitivity (AS) of 491 RIU−1 with a resolution (R) of 8.33×10−6.
